The Family Tree is taking every precaution necessary to
prevent the spread of infections this flu season. All of our toys and care
areas are being disinfected regularly. Our staff will stringently follow sanitary
measures as recommended by several government
agencies.
There are a
number of things that you can do to prepare yourself and those around you for a
flu pandemic. It is important to think about the challenges that you might
face, particularly if a pandemic is severe.
Go through a Planning Checklist
to be sure that you plan for the impact of a flu pandemic on you, your family
and your business. For more information specific to individuals, families, and
your workplace, and for information directed toward schools, health care
providers, community organizations and governments, see Plan & Prepare.
Child care facility closure is not currently being advised for a suspected or confirmed
case of H1N1 flu and, in general, is not advised unless there is a magnitude
of staff or student absenteeism that interferes with the facility’s ability to
function.
Things you can do to prevent the spread of the flu.
* Stay informed. This website will be updated regularly as information becomes available.
* Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
* Take everyday actions to stay healthy.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
* Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.
* Find healthy ways to deal with stress and anxiety.
